Ian has a passion for business innovation, technology, and people. These interests and decades of experience are deeply embedded in his approach to next generation auditing and the augmentation of the Testing Inspection and Compliance (TIC) sector.
In 2001 Ian co-founded Direct Response from a garage in East London and won awards for sustained growth, service excellence, Investors in People, and compliance standards. Over two decades he successfully scaled the businesses from 4 people in a garage to Group employing over 1,500 people across the UK, Europe, and North America. Direct Response transformed the business process outsourcing market for small to mid tier businesses and became the largest BPO for the SME market in the UK. As part of this journey he acquired 5 businesses creating a group which he later sold to VC and PE backed organisations.
His experience in developing innovative use of technology to help increase compliance and performance cultures led him to become deeply engrossed in how audits and assessments in the TIC sector can be augmented and transformed.
Ever the opportunist and adventurer, he has sailed a yacht to India, travelled around Central America in the 1990’s and drove a Land Rover across Southern Africa. Ian has a great family around him and an amazing wife who has supported him through thick and thin. Ian unsuccessfully tries to keep up with his daughters on the tennis court and follows his passions for sailing, photography, and sampling the odd pint with anyone willing to put up with his under par jokes.
Ian has an MSc from Bristol University in Macro Economics, Development Administration and Planning, majoring in fair trade.
