Mark has been working closely with DeepFathom since mid-2025 and has formally joined the Executive Board as Head of Financial Services.
Mark is a highly experienced financial professional with over 30 years in investment banking and advisory roles, including 10 years in trading (credit, FX, derivatives) and 15+ years in financial structuring. He has proven expertise in numerous asset classes and disciplines and a global network of clients and peers.
Most recently, Mark held a senior management role at SMBC as a General Manager of the Financial Institutions Group in EMEA and a Material Risk Taker under the Senior Managers Regime, demonstrating success in revenue growth, business development and risk management. Earlier in his financial career, Mark worked at JP Morgan and HSBC.
Prior to embarking on a career in Banking, Mark was a professional cricketer, spending 4 years each Lancashire and Nottinghamshire CCC, where he was first team vice-captain.
Since 2011, Mark has been an active investor in early-stage companies across healthcare, education, fintech and real estate sectors. He is also an active supporter of educational charities.
Outside work, he enjoys a variety of sports and travel, particularly skiing with his wife and three children, all of whom now leave him in their wake.
Mark holds an MA (Chemistry) from Oxford University, where he also earned 8 “blues” across football and cricket and attended Manchester Grammar School.
